Carmen Maria

An ambitious ecologist returning to her childhood home on the Dutch island of Ameland discovers a dangerous drug smuggling route, forcing her to choose between exposing the truth and protecting those she loves.

In a dark village dominated by a clock of death, Dante's son Leonardo (8) is chosen as a human sacrifice. Dante does not accept this fate and engages in a desperate battle with the clock, causing him to miss his last moments with his son.

In this tragicomedy, three adult sisters and their brother come to the farm of their estranged, deceased mother to divide the inheritance. To their surprise, that includes a flock of sheep. The sisters and brother have drifted apart but it turns out that too is part of their mother's legacy.
