In 1975, The Bay City Rollers were on the brink of global superstardom. The most successful chart act in the UK with a unique look and sound were about to become the biggest thing since the Beatles. Featuring interviews with Les McKeown and other members of the classic Bay City Roller line-up, and using previously unseen footage shot by members of the band and its entourage, this is the tale of five lads from Edinburgh who became the world's first international teen idols and turned the whole world tartan.

The story of Henry Carsten (Alan Longmuir from Bay City Rollers), his life as a race car driver and his relationship with Maxe (Olivia Pascal). Also features Rollers members Stuart Wood and Duncan Faure in the supporting cast. The Rollers provide the soundtrack to the film with 10 new songs.

In September 2015 the Bay City Rollers - Les McKeown, Alan Longmuir and Stuart ‘Woody’ Wood - announced to the world and ecstatic Bay City Roller fans that they were back! A UK tour was announced and the first of these shows after so many years away had to be at the iconic home of Scottish Rock’n’Roll... the Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow. One show was released…it sold out in 3 minutes. A further 3 shows announced...all sold out in 9 minutes…a Barrowland record! The stage was set for a momentous Tartan Rollermania Reunion. We captured the magic on film... the excitement, the atmosphere and the sheer joy of the thousands of fans who had waited so many years to finally see their idols

Shang-a-Lang was a children's pop music TV series starring the Scottish band, the Bay City Rollers. It was produced in Manchester by Granada Television for the ITV network and ran for one 20-week series in 1975. It featured the band in a number of comedy sketches and performing their songs to a live studio audience made up of their teenage fans. This resulted in chaotic scenes at times as some members of the audience attempted to run onto the studio floor to meet their heroes, resulting in security officers having to forcibly restain or even eject them from the studio. The show's theme song "Shang-a-Lang", was a hit single for the group, peaking at number 2 in 1974 in the UK.
