A holiday celebration with the extended family gets stretched to the breaking point in this comedy from Germany. Sara is happily married to Jan, though this wasn't always the case -- Sara is Jan's second wife, while Sara has three ex-husbands, Gunnar, Andi and Erich, and she and Jan are raising children from each of their previous marriages. Jan is less than thrilled with the prospect of spending the holidays with Sara's mother, but things get worse when he learns his wife has planned a surprise for Christmas eve -- they'll be joined by Gunnar, Andi and Erich, as well as Erich's new wife Pauline, Andi's current spouse Rita and his own ex-wife, Eva. To call the atmosphere uncomfortable is an understatement, and things only get worse when Sara announces she's pregnant, which is quite troubling for Jan since he's been waiting for the right time to tell her he had a vasectomy several months before.

No job is too absurd for Jakob: in a glitter suit with stick-on sideburns, he sings Elvis Presley songs for crooning old ladies - not exactly the musical Olympics, but he needs the money. Now Jakob has the job of transporting a valuable stud ram to Norway by car, because the ram doesn't like flying. Just before he sets off, Jakob's long-forgotten lover Julia calls and announces the arrival of her-their-12-year-old daughter May. The stubborn teenager has taken it into her head to visit the father she has never met. So May has to come along to Norway too. However, with an angrily bleating ram in the back and an arrogant 'goat' in the passenger seat, Jakob has much more than he can cope with.

Virus alert in Cologne: a deadly influenza pathogen has been released. Shortly afterwards, Sonja Kessler finds her husband Reinhard, a virus researcher, dead in their apartment. Everything points to suicide, but an unusual trail leads her and her stepson Jan to an apartment rented by Reinhard. Reinhard was apparently secretly researching a deadly virus there.

From one day to the next, the diva falls from the Olympus of the opera world when she rushes to the aid of her sick father Karl and cancels a performance at the Cologne Opera. The audience and, above all, the management are furious, as "Die Herbst" has been harassing the directors of the major opera houses for years with her whims and demands. The second cast is now to be given their chance.
