October 1941. German forces have penetrated deep into Russia and are laying waste to everything they see. The Soviet high command takes every chance they get to secure the rear and take anything of historic importance out of harm's way.

One day, Tina’s ex-husband Lenchik and his young wife Alina unceremoniously invade Tina’s apartment. A schoolteacher, intelligent and sophisticated, Tina can do nothing to oppose the impudent impudence of her ex-husband. The situation gets even worse when Alina abandons her newborn son and hides in an unknown direction. Lenchik decides to return to his relationship with Tina. And he acts with his usual unceremoniousness.
