"Droit de Réponse" (Right of Reply) is a French debate program broadcast between December 12, 1981 and September 19, 1987 on the TF1 channel, presented by Michel Polac and produced by Maurice Dugowson. Broadcast live on a weekly basis, on Saturdays from 8.30 p.m., the right of reply has been the source of many controversies, due to the various speakers who have come to present their point of view on the show (which leads to famous scandals , remained in the memory of viewers), but also for the variety and relevance of the topics covered, which ensured the success of the program on the air for several years. On French television, this program is considered by some observers as a “pioneer program in terms of controversy-show or clash, in modern language”.

Jean Pierre, a young Parisian salesman, decides to go on vacation by hitchhiking at random. Taken as a jaguar by a rich man, he finds himself invited to his villa in Saint Tropez and discovers a luxurious, idle and decadent universe. The body of a young woman falls on the terrace of Martha, who intrigued, meets her neighbor. In contact with this strange man, she learns to have a different look about her own life and her marital problems.

A teenage boy and his friend look up an artist who painted a picture of the boy's mother years before. The eccentric artist eventually tolerates the intrusions of the two teens and gives the boy some historical background on how the two met and became involved. When the boy tells his mother he has met the artist, the mother returns to him and rekindles the passionate affair the two shared years before. The boy is caught in the middle between his mother's infidelity and his own resentment and rebellion towards his conservative, often humorless father.
