In 1940, in France, Jean Chevalin lives with his family in great poverty after deserting the army. Convinced that some people manage better than others, he decides to pretend to be Jewish in order to receive help from smugglers and reach the free zone. This ruse will lead his family on a journey that will gradually dismantle his prejudices.

One afternoon, three high school students sneak out of their all-girls Catholic boarding school. Sunny, the new girl, has gone for a swim in the river. Sarah is eager to join her, even though Clémence disapproves.

During a school trip to Italy, a group of schoolgirls stay in a convent. Emma shares her room with her friends Lydia and Alice. She feels attracted to Alice, but as the two girls get closer, Emma suddenly feels like the religious statuettes are judging her.
