Chao Ping, a Chinese student in Paris, has broken her computer containing all her data. While she hopes to recover them, her parents are hoping for her return to them in China.

In a large industrial city in the north, Noah is a young lighthouse keeper who dedicates his life to watching over the sailors. Some news disrupts his routine and makes his peaceful habits drift towards a feeling of uselessness that, little by little, borders on insanity.
