The residents of Ho Chi Minh City face modernization amid widespread poverty. A retired American Marine arrives on a search for his daughter, whom he abandoned at the end of the Vietnam War. Elsewhere, a cyclo driver falls for a troubled prostitute and schemes to raise money so he can spend time with her. Additionally, a young women begins harvesting lotuses for a writer suffering from leprosy, and a child trinket seller loses his traveling case.

Since the appearance of a two-headed snake, a riverside village is plagued by a series of mysterious deaths. As long-forgotten secrets slowly rise to the surface, the villagers realize that some curses never truly disappear.

A woman is hired by a tycoon to play the role of his dead ex-wife and manage his large estate.

Also called "Rain Drop's Fate" or "Like The Falling Raindrops", Như Hạt Mưa Sa is a black and white film based on the novel of the same name by the late writer Ngọc Linh made by Việt Ảnh Film. Bạch Tuyết played the role of Dã Lan with Trần Quang, the painter Thuyên, and Thẩm Thúy Hằng played the roles of Yến and Dung (twin sisters), Đoàn Châu Mậu, Tony Hiếu, Tùng Lâm... The film was made in 1971.

Orphaned at a young age and later abandoned by her godfather, Vân grows up in the care of kind-hearted nuns at a convent on the outskirts of Saigon. With the help of Mother Superior, the young woman leaves the convent upon adulthood and finds work as a governess for the estate of a wealthy industrialist where she again encounters a series of miseries and torments that have once plagued her childhood.

In the years following the American war a young woman from Hanoi teaches in a rural school in the south. There she meets a troubled young man, and they have a brief romance that she recalls wistfully years later in her unhappy marriage.

The film is about a family of fishermen. The father, lost in passion, devoted himself to finding treasures in a ship wrecked at sea, who inadvertently deprived the happiness and the lives of his children.
