Latifa Al-Mejren

Al-Hajiz (The Barrier), the movie deals with social and emotional barriers imposed upon individuals by society and also with those that the individual imposes upon himself. The characters in the movie lack the ability to communicate with each other and therefore, fail to understand their own emotions. Hence, they fail to maintain healthy relationships with each other because of the lack of love amongst them. This failure is attributed to the surrounding environment that dose not allow for healthy relationships to grow and prosper.

The series revolves around (Bin Zeidan), an evil man who controls the village where he lives in the midst of great injustice to its people, who realize that they will not get rid of this injustice, unless they encounter (Ibn Zeidan), so they kill and chase his followers, and expel him from the village.

Set during the Arab-Israeli war of 1967, this epic drama is both the personal story of a middle-class Bahraini family and an account of the hopes and faith the Arab world had in Jamal Abdul Nasser as its leader. Intimately told, it skillfully interweaves the personal and the general to reveal a society built on male domination and female sacrifice, as women attempt to enjoy freedom of choice.

The film shows the life story of the martyred poet (Fayek Abdul-Jalil), whose words were sung by many of the most prominent Gulf artists, including (Abdul-Rab Idris), (Talal Maddah), (Abu Bakr Salem), and (Ebadi Al-Jawhar), who became after his arrest by the Iraqi forces, the most famous Kuwaiti prisoner during the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait in the early nineties, after writing many patriotic songs.

The role of events in the seventies of the last century, when Kuwait was an example of human and material development and progress. The series deals with several social and humanitarian issues, such as social class, materialism, love of control and equality between men and women, through three families that struggle directly and indirectly among themselves.

The series deals with what happens in the lives of five sister girls, especially with Father Saud, who seeks to have a son bearing his name and marries another woman, and their mother, who dies after giving birth to her fifth daughter.
