The story beginnings with a young man visiting a village in Burma. One night, a beautiful woman comes into his bedroom and attempts to seduce him.

A mediator walks into a Karen village in the midst of a feud between another village. When the sheriff of the village is shot dead, he soon becomes implicit in a series of murders, and it is not long that he angers enough people who are thirsty for vengeance.
