Police Cadet '84 was a TV series which included such stars in TVB as Tony Leung, Maggie Cheung, and notably, Carina Lau. The story centered on a couple of young "cadets" in the Police Cadet School. Tragedy, romance, conflicts, and intrigues were featured. The series was immediately followed by a sequels titled "New Police Cadet '85" and "New Police Cadet '88". Both sequels stars Tony Leung.

My Date with a Vampire is a 1998 Hong Kong television series produced by ATV. The story is based on the future events of the plot of Vampire Expert, a similar two-season television drama aired on ATV in 1995 and 1996. It blends aspects of the jiangshi with those of western vampires, while injecting elements of Chinese mythology and modern horror legends. The series is a tribute to Lam Ching-ying, the lead actor of Vampire Expert and a prominent cast member in the Mr. Vampire franchise, who died of liver cancer in 1997. It was followed by My Date with a Vampire II (2000) and My Date with a Vampire III (2004).

Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils is a 1982 Hong Kong television series adapted from Louis Cha's novel Demi-Gods and Semi-Devils. The 50 episodes long series is divided into two parts, with their Chinese titles as 天龍八部之六脈神劍 and 天龍八部之虛竹傳奇 respectively.

Twenty years ago, Takeda Kunizen secretly saw his father presenting a scroll to his younger brother Kosho. Kokatsu believed that the scroll contained "martial arts secret techniques". One day, a new immigrant, Xiaoyue, was bullied. A quasi-Olympic karate player, Zhuang Hui, got involved. Zhihao, a gangster who was put on a horse by a gangster, was involved. He was just passing by to stop the fight.

Larine and Jojo have been friends since childhood. They have both been chosen to be mistresses to the emperor because of their beauty. Larine's mother died a long time ago. She pretends to be ugly when the government officials visit in order to stay with her father. However, during one festival, she saves the plain-dressed emperor, without realizing who he is. He cannot put her aside when he gets back to the palace and decides to marry her. Jojo is jealous of her. She lies to her and takes her to a gypsy, who switches their faces. The story follows the adventures of the protagonist Di Yun, a young peasant who is wrongfully imprisoned after being framed. In his quest for vengeance, he accidentally acquires the Liancheng Swordplay manual (連城劍谱), an ancient artefact prized for not only the skills detailed inside, but also a secret leading to a treasure.

"Bei Zheng" is an honest and upright hero who seeks to help others. He operates a clinic in the small town of Pu Ren Lane, with the help of assistants like "Lu Cheng," "Lü Ren," and "Mao Shi Jun." His friend's son, "Fong Chun," comes to learn from him and becomes an invaluable aide. The owner of the inn who rents out a storefront to "Bei Zheng" is infatuated with him, but he only has eyes for "Bai Su Yi". "Fong Chun" initially dislikes living with "Bei Zheng" but eventually sees the value in his work and learns from him. He abandons his career as a royal physician to follow "Bei Zheng's" aspirations. "Fong Chun" was initially engaged to "Bai Jing Wen," but he falls in love with "Xiao Qian," a prostitute. Their love affair leads to a tragic end when "Xiao Qian" is killed by "Bai Jing Wen."

Kong Tai-wai is an idealistic college student who decides to join the police force, and later becomes an undercover detective disguising himself as a chief assistant of a major drug trafficker.

Wang Xiabo (Luo Jialiang) is the eldest son of the vegetable vendor Wang Erzai (Xia Yu). Since graduating from high school, he has been taking care of the vegetable stalls for his father, so he has a strong affection for the vegetable market. One day, Xia Bo met her childhood playmate Su Youmei (played by Wu Yongwei), and her mother (played by Cheng Kewei) even operated flower stalls in the market. The Yumi family and Erzai were friends at first, but unfortunately they turned against each other because of money. Xia Bo is straightforward and snobbish from the United States, and the two suddenly become enemies. Soon, Yumi suspected that her boyfriend had an affair with Xia Bo's wife Yan Meizhu (Wu Meiheng), and the two were forced to put aside their family feud and investigate together.
