In a future where 75% of humanity lives in a virtual reality and the rest remains on an abandoned Earth, an artificial intelligence is unable to recreate images of the physical world. The filme relates how a victory - winning a scholarship to an elite private school - may become an obstacle race for an impoverished young person.

Malhação is a Brazilian television series for the teenage audience. The soap started in 1995, and was set in a fictional Gym Club called Malhação on Barra da Tijuca, Rio de Janeiro. Through the years the location varied slightly. Although the name of the soap remains the same, it is now set in the Múltipla Escolha High School.
