Teenage mother Cheryl struggles to combine school with the care of her one-year-old daughter. When troubles are mounting she slowly starts to lose control over her life.

Against a backdrop of disturbing images the viewer is presented with a WhatsApp conversation between two lovers in the final months of their relationship. The film was funded by the Netherlands Film Fund and premiered at the prestigious 67th “Festival del film” in Locarno.

In a juvenile prison three young delinquents are forced to reinvent themselves under the preventive custody of the state. Absurd psychotherapeutic conversations are alternated with intimate moments when the boys film themselves in the solitude of the night.

Youth of Today is a documentary about three youngsters in the summer of 2012; Otham Allah (21), Nina de Koning (20) and Nick Muiser. Othman wants to focus on his boxing career, but before he can realize his good intentions, he is due to serve a sentence in prison. Nina moved to a tiny studio flat in the big city, however pretty soon finds herself lonely and out of money. Nick also seems to deal with the lack of money. Fortunately though, he has his friends with whom he is still trying to have a good time and enjoy some of this marvelous summer sun of 2012.
