But the perestroika planned by Gorbachyov leads to fatal, irreversible consequences. Intelligence officer Alexander Nechaev finds himself at the center of an operation organized by the intelligence services of several countries. During the months spent in Berlin at the moment of the breakdown of the entire post-war world order, Nechaev changed a lot. The secret world of readers of Gromov's books is divided into Libraries that hunt for books all over the country and are ready to kill competitors for the sake of their strength. Vyazintsev will have to become a part of one of the Libraries, reveal the secrets of his own family and go in search of the rarest of magical books — the book of Meaning.

For a long time, Masha Roshchina, a young doctor, did not want to introduce her chosen cosmonaut, Andrei Izotov, to her mom and dad, especially her dad. Masha's father is police lieutenant Colonel Dmitry Roshchin, and Masha's chosen one detests law enforcement officers and treats them with irony bordering on hatred.
