Set against the sweeping backdrop of China’s Inner Mongolian grasslands in the early 1990s, Impossible to Escape is a visceral crime-action thriller that pits relentless justice against ruthless lawlessness. Directed by Feng Baoning, the film follows veteran detective Zhang Xiao (played by Su Xin), a seasoned officer leading a task force to dismantle the brutal criminal empire of Guan Xiongfei (Du Yiheng), a merciless gangster terrorizing the region with audacious heists and savage violence.

In 1937, Communist Zhuang Qifeng, under his leader Zhou Mi, mobilized peasants to reduce rents and form resistance groups, uniting against the Japanese puppet regime and establishing a base for the eventual victory in the war.

Kang Benshan and Wang Ranqiu are workers at the Changxindian Railway Factory, having grown up in the “mouth” and “seam” areas at the heart of the ancient town of Changxindian in southwest Beijing. As skilled craftsmen, they tackle the toughest machine repairs and help build some of the finest trains.
