An ethnographer originating from Kashubia comes back to her home region to explore folk religion.

Krystyna, the main character of the film, is a 60-year-old poor pensioner from the deep provinces, who sells homemade honey by the road. One day, Russian prostitutes start working on the same road. Krystyna does not like the new company. He soon comes into conflict with one of the girls and accidentally comes into possession of her wallet with the daily takings. Contrary to the heroines' expectations, further events bring the two women closer together.

Jola lives in Podlasie, near the border with Belarus. Her son Marek works in the Border Guard and combs the forests looking for illegal immigrants. Jola is a taxi driver and does not want to interfere, but one day a car breakdown will force her to confront her own beliefs.

A couple of young Ukrainians, Olena and Dima, is travelling to Sweden. Dima’s wallet with her passport gets stolen in a Polish train. A thief throws it through a window. They have to find it before a ferry leaves. The real reason of this travel reveals.

Marlena struggles with a serious marital crisis due to the alcohol addiction of her husband, Zbigniew. Via the Internet she meets Bruno, a Senegalese, who brings back Marlena’s self-confidence and sense of womanhood. However, it turns out that the man plans something rather different for her than building a relationship with her…
