In a remote Mongolian mountains, a woman lives with her mother-in-law and her daughter. Everyone has deserted them except for the people she looks after. Time to time a local man comes and helps her to do her difficult tasks and always asks her to move to the nearest town with him. Her hands are tied to the place, since her mother-in-law wouldn't be able to get accustomed to the town lifestyle.

A young boy named Tulga is lost in a yak herd during the migration and raised in a wolf's den. A hunter finds the boy while searching for food from a wolf's den in the spring. As the boy grows up, he learns how to inherit the customs of his Mongolian people and how to improve his way of life.

We humans have been living among the many unexplained mysteries of this universe for generations. This film depicts the transformation of Alagaa, an ordinary young herder with no profession or education, based on real-life sources.
