A young man leaves his rural origins in search of self-actualization. He moves into a poor neighborhood where he resides with his sister Narjes and gets involved with many women until he discovers he has cancer and encounters another girl with the same pernicious illness.

Police officer Omar al-Attar which is exposed to the position turns over his career and personal upside down, when the killing of his wife verse at the hands of a gang, seeks to avenge her, something that enters into a series of cascading problems with his superiors, it becomes chased by security forces.

Set in the heart of a bustling Egyptian neighbourhood, Downtown follows the intertwined lives of middle and working-class families navigating love, loss, rivalry and daily struggle. When a father dies and his eldest son discovers he has been cut from the will, long-buried tensions erupt between siblings. A sprawling soap opera that captures the texture of everyday Egyptian life with warmth, conflict and a large ensemble cast.

The story of the Al-Agaty family that consists of a mother and her two sons, one of whom is a police officer who faces a lot of problems as a result of his violent behavior, while the other son is a young revolutionary leftist often at odds with his brother and his family.

Al-Gama'a is an Egyptian television drama, Historical and Political drama series written by Wahid Hamid, directed by Mohammed Yasin and produced by Kamel Abu Ali. The series began filming in January 2010 with a budget of 50 million Egyptian pounds. The show deals with the rise of the Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt’s largest Islamist political group, which was officially banned but nonetheless tolerated to an extent before the revolution. Critics have decried the show's pro-government stance, charging that it plays into the Egyptian government's agenda prior to the 2010 Egyptian parliamentary elections.
