In Melantrope, we follow the daily trajectory in the city of the restless Marta. Due to stress and social pressure, this young lab assistant struggles with sleep problems and accompanying hallucinations. After a conversation with her doctor, the symptoms turn out to be deeper rooted than she thought. The viewer becomes part of Marta's wanderings, which increasingly resemble a fever dream and culminate when the inner and deepest instincts come to the surface.

Vincent is a 17-year old ecologist who drives his family crazy with his attempts to reduce their carbon footprint. Vincent‘s giddy French aunt Nikki takes him on a trip to France, convinced that the boy‘s obsession is related to his suffocating mother. But on their road-trip, Vincent proves to be much more than Nikki can handle.

Thomas, 70, looks back on the last evening he and his lost friend Mari spent together. An evening in which they drink wine, dine, listen to piano playing and dance with their girlfriends. As the hours pass before his eyes, Thomas contemplates the lost friendship, the person Mari was and the conversations of that night.

In ‘Interview with history: the Belgian royal family’, he talks to the Belgian kings, played by top Flemish actors. These conversations form the thread running through the episode and are interspersed with reports and archive material.
