Charles joins hands with Shobharaj to save his sister who is admitted to a hospital. Paulochan, a wealthy businessman, hires them to impress his daughter Anna who wants to become a nun.

This is a coming of age movie based on the life of a young man named Kalloo, who lives with his wealthy family in a small village in India. Kalloo is attracted to a pretty young woman named Laxmi, but is unable to express his love for her. On her part, Laxmi too is attracted to Kalloo, and would like him to take the lead in this romance. Kalloo wants to write a love-letter to Laxmi, and is unable to do so, as he cannot read nor write. When he discusses this matter with his grandma, he is told that it is not necessary for him to learn to read and write, as the family is wealthy, and this matter can be taken care of by hiring someone who can read and write. But will Kalloo be satisfied with this, especially when Laxmi herself can read and write?

Raja and Ashok are old friends, almost like brothers. One day Raja meets and falls helplessly in love with Madhu. A bit later, Madhu and Ashok meet by accident, and Ashok also falls in love with her. It gets further complicated by the fact that Ashok's father was in love with Madhu's mother and continues to carry a grudge against the family.

Two Adivasi tribes are in conflict for the local economic rights. The daughter of the Nagi tribe's chief, Mala (Vyjayanthimala) vows to kill the son of the Ragi tribe's chief, Sanatan (Pradeep Kumar) as revenge. Trespassing the enemy territory, she is mesmerized by music of a flute (played by the musician Kalyanji Virji Shah). Coming closer, she finds out that the singer is Sanatan. They fall in love, but find it difficult to appease the enmity between the two tribes and to resist the attempts of the villain Prabir (Jeevan) to marry Mala.

A young girl, impressed by the crystal clear ideals of a writer, falls in love with him, but ends up losing everything she hoped for as a wife.
