Thylacine

After several years apart, Myriam, a young woman from a Muslim background who grew up in Marseille, reconnects with Eva, who comes from a Jewish family, during the summer vacation. Together, they live out their youth outside the imposed norms. But this carefree summer begins to unravel when a tragedy upends the balance of their social and family circles—and soon, their own destinies.

After keeping a careful distance for many years, 25-year-old Gaspard must renew contact with his family when his father remarries. Accompanied by Laura, an eccentric young woman who agrees to pretend she's his girlfriend at the wedding, he finally feels ready to set foot in the zoo owned by his parents, where he is reunited with the monkeys and tigers he grew up with... But with a father who is an out-of-control womanizer, a brother who is far too sensible, and a sister who is far too beautiful, he unknowingly sets himself up to experience the last days of his childhood.

Nassim, a 16-year-old boy, is placed with a family in the suburbs following the death of his drug addict mother. But he refuses to integrate into the social setting that surrounds him. He invents another life for himself, similar to that of his mates at the big Parisian high school he goes to. There’s no reason for that to change. His two lives, his home life and his school life, must be kept separate at all costs.

Thylacine takes the ARTE Concert Festival audience on a journey with his latest album: 9 Pieces.

Swiss Sounds is an immersive cinematic journey that follows the acclaimed French electronic producer, Thylacine, as he explores the rugged landscapes and unique sonic textures of Switzerland. Known for his "graphic composition" style and his tendency to record in nomadic studios—from the Trans-Siberian Railway to the deserts of Argentina—this film captures his latest creative odyssey. The documentary blends breathtaking cinematography of the Swiss Alps with an intimate look at the artist's creative process. Using his modular synthesizers and field recordings, Thylacine transforms the sounds of mountain echoes, traditional Swiss instruments, and industrial machinery into a powerful, melodic techno performance.
