During the Nazi-occupied Ustasha regime "NDH" in former Yugoslavia during WWII, little girl Dara is sent to the concentration camp complex Jasenovac in Croatia also known as "Balkan's Auschwitz".

In the family of Colonel Mitrovic, all three daughters are ready for marriage, but they have problems finding husbands. The icebreaker occurs when the youngest daughter marries a young assistant at the university. Her wedding, however, starts a chain of events which helps the other two daughters.

A beautiful and powerful historical story set in the period from August 1913. (after the defeat of Serbia in the Balkan raids when it regained deo territory) until the end of 1915 (the Austro-Hungarian occupation of Belgrade and Serbia). Nikola Stanimirovic, a young Serbian officer, the main hero of the story, returned to his hometown. His wedding is traditionally scheduled, but the death of Sofia, the daughter of the Austro-Hungarian envoy Ota Baumana, has caught the eye of the eye.
