Story about two brothers and their wives, and the interactions between them and their two high school age children. When the kids get into serious trouble together, how will the parents relationships change with and among each other? Will the parents protect the kids or force them to face the consequences of their actions?

During the 1994 general elections, a mechanic with a firm belief in communism, fearing that his party is about to lose, journeys to a northern village to instigate. He isn't there long before he encounters a beautiful hairdresser, with whom their debate is fiery as is his growing and impossible-to-hide passion for her. Although she too is intrigued with him, their disparate ideologies threaten to keep them apart.

In each segment, a normal person suffers extremely weird, disturbing and paradoxical situations. These situations may seem incredible, yet they happen.

End of the 70s in the Treviso area. Two decisive moments in the lives of three teenagers of the Bottacin family: Primo, Anna and Tiberio. Alberto Manzi is twenty years old and wants to be a teacher. He gets the job at a juvenile correctional facility, to then get transfered to a proper school, who he deems inadequate. At that time the public broadcasting network Rai decides to realize a program to educate millions of Italians.

The film tells, through the stories of four characters whose lives, in different forms and manners, are either changed or endangered by shoes, an object symbolizing desire par excellence, what we are willing to do to find our identity in the world, how far we go to be loved and accepted. It narrates a world where everyone desires what they don't have, where everyone wants to be what they are not.
