One Hero, The People (Un Seul Héros, le Peuple) tells the story of a victorious popular uprising. In 1960, facing militarized repression, Algeria’s working-class populations—with women and children sometimes on the front lines—surged forth from shantytowns and segregated neighborhoods. They thwarted the counter-insurgency and upended the colonial order. It is also the story of oppressed bodies liberating themselves through dance.

A tribute to the immigration struggles that have taken place since the 1960s until today on the issue of police violence and an analysis of the role of the police in the French socio-apartheid system.
