Faidon Gkretsikos

In the mid-1960s, Kostas left his village in Crete dreaming of becoming a star. His rugged physique and humble background afforded him only small “tough-guy” roles, yet in numerous Greek films – from big studio productions and renowned auteur masterpieces to low-budget exploitation films alike. By placing a support actor at centerstage, the film traces five decades of Greek cinema.

1943. Sergeant Tim Barker is parachuted into the occupied mountains of Greece. Injured he' s searching for his link in the resistance when he's rescued by a family.

Maria and Nikos, a married couple coping with alienation, are spending the weekend at a hotel nestled in nature, by the river Acheron. During their stay, they will try to find new balance in their relationship.
