When her screenplay is critiqued in class, Gabriela, a film student, tries to get her mother to acknowledge that the causes of her premature downfall lie in her childhood.

Five stories about dignity in the capital of Peru. A local leader looking for someone to leave the post of her complex work, a tourist guide who is a patron of the architectural heritage and Creole music, an ex-delinquent rescued by the Evangelical Church, a teenage dancer of Afro-Peruvian music forced to emigrate and a muralist of Bellas Artes son of Andean migrants, they try to get ahead in Barrios Altos, the most feared – but also most beloved – historic neighborhood of Lima.

In a religious retreat, Maria and Camila defy the rules to live a night of confessions and discoveries through an intimate journey of youthful rebellion and search for identity that will test their friendship and faith. Between laughter and secrets, they discover that growing up is also an act of courage.

A tour of Barrios Altos, getting to know the daily life of the neighborhood leader Gregoria, the very criollo José Francisco and the Afro-Peruvian dance instructor Ángelo, who open the doors of their home to us while producing a musical show to pay tribute to the Lord of Miracles.
