Ananta, Sujoy, Ananda and Rajasaunkar Dhol –four friends find themselves in a complicated situation when they are forced to live in a house together as paying guests and the homeowner catches them causing trouble with their girlfriends.

The story narrates three adult boy's life from three different background.

In late 19th Century, Bengal Bhubaneswar Chowdhury (Jackie Shroff) is a wealthy and tyrannical Zamidar (Squire). He has two main obsessions: his desperate attempts for an heir, which even his new second wife Jashomati seems unable to deliver; and competing with his regional rivals to produce the most magnificent effigy of a goddess for the annual Durga Puja ceremony. This year he concocts a master plan - why not change the face of the goddess for the most powerful woman on Earth - Queen Victoria. Meantime his two wives Mahomaya and Jashomati try to look out for one another especially as Bhubeneshwar begins to sexually assault his younger wife each night. Traumatised and lonely, Jashomati is dangerously drawn towards the youthful sculptor who has been employed to create the great effigy of Durga, Goddess of destruction.

Diametrically opposite sisters, Dibba and Priya fall in love with two friends, Agny and Tony. However, when Priya's marriage falls apart, will Dibba be able to tie the knot with Agny?

Dev is a high school drop out from and a worthless village lad. He is hell bent on getting married. But the girl he wants to marry rejects him stating that he doesn't have college education. Dev, who is clever and street-smart decides to go to Kolkata for further education. While travelling in the train, he bashes up a bunch of rowdies teasing college girls. At the college in Kolkata, he meets Riya (and falls in love with her. A city gangster, Rudra,is in love with her and blackmails her to marry him. He beats anyone moving closely with Riya. Meanwhile, henchmen of the dreaded chieftain Dubai Keshto, from Dubai, are looking for Dev in the city.

Two young couples facing several problems cross each other's paths to make a difference. They each have a unique connection that substitutes for what is missing in their relationship.

Several Hindu people whose lives get intertwined, experience complex human emotions due to many complications. They all come to the conclusion that love does not always bring happiness.
