Cohen tells Aslih of his experiences navigating a growingly genocidal society and seeks Aslih’s moral clarity and resilience in the evocative letters he had written as a teenager.

Outskirts of Moscow. A girl comes to an unfamiliar apartment to look after a dog. After a while, she realizes that the owner of the apartment has disappeared. She finds herself into a series of people that have been taking care of the dog for years in that same apartment, creating a weird community around this strange absence of the owner.

In a tumbledown house she finds artefacts of existence: clothing, furniture, a record player and a telephone. The latter contains a young couple’s photos and videos. Arianna and Leonardo loved taking selfies and meticulously recorded their holidays and excursions, but also their intimate moments at home.

In a large, empty gym, the protagonists Iris and Lea play hide-and-seek: time seems to stand still, while the approach of an airplane transforms reality in a mysterious and poetic way.
