A *Pobeda* car—carrying the artist Shaltay, his wife, and their child—accidentally finds itself in the midst of the convoy. It is here that the driver, Kemel, encounters Tana, his ex-wife. Determined to save both the people and the grain, Kemel and other brave men set out for the district center. Tana insists that Shaltay join them. Along the way, Shaltay feigns illness, forcing the drivers to turn back. The people in the convoy battle the elements; they are being searched for and are on everyone's minds.

Ulan follows a sailor whose marriage disintegrates and longs for his younger days on horseback

After a serious car accident, Kaysar, a driver, has his license suspended for five years and takes a job as a gamekeeper. A gang of local poachers tries to make a deal with him, but Kaysar proves incorruptible. Unable to catch them red-handed right away, he wins their trust, organizes a staged hunt, tips off the militia, and finally brings the criminals to justice.

The heroine of the film Karagoz Alimbayeva comes from the village, where she worked as a zoo technician for five years, to the city to enter the veterinary institute. Having brilliantly passed the profile subjects, Karagoz gets a three on the last physics exam and, having failed to get one point, must return to the village.
