Lina Hawarna is a Syrian actress born in Damascus. She wanted to study law or engineering, but her family encouraged her to study acting. She graduated from the Higher Institute of Dramatic Arts in Damascus. As a student at the Institute, she participated with director Mohamed Malas in the movie Al-Layl. Her first work after graduation was in the television series Dreams Deferred in 1992.
