Four young girls take their first steps guiding anglers on the banks Iceland´s biggest salmon river. The riverbanks hold their family history and the girls are the 7th generation of guides. As the summer unfolds, they grow in confidence and skills while also making mistakes. At the same time nature is facing challenges, and so is their future.

The 11 year old Breki is at constant odds with his older sister Bergdís, but all he wants is her validation. One day when she is out, Breki sneaks into her closet and makeup, leaving the room a mess. When the family returns to the scene, a series of events unfold leading to a long overdue confrontation between the siblings.

Lísa is fifteen years old and quite different from other girls her age. She has isolated herself and has a big secret about herself. When her childhood friend Bryndís starts reaching out to her, the two reunite, leading Lísa to discover more secrets about her body and medical history.

Two years after the mysterious disappearance of their eldest son, Lukasz, an immigrant family is still distraught. Kasia the mother, Tomek the father, and youngest child Patryk cope with their loss.
