The couple, Adel and Salwa, live a quiet life. A problem occurs in the kitchen, so a plumber comes to repair some pipes. The plumber assaults Salwa, and since then, the relationship between the couple has split.

After failing to find stable work in Cairo, Hassanein joins a group of beggars and unwittingly becomes involved with a corrupt businessman who suspects him of being a police informant.

Adel is a director of a company and is married to Nabila, the daughter of Medhat, the owner of the company. Adel falls in love with the company employee's princess, reveals her feelings and that he was unfortunate in his life with his wife and that his marriage was an interest in relation to his position. A princess shared the same feelings and married her in secret, but Medhat finds out about them.

Hassanein and Barhuma suffer from the abuse of (El-Hanash) a bully in the neighborhood. After some time, Hassanein travels to Greece where he meets with his mistress Aziza and marries her after knowing that she has a child as a result of their illicit relationship. On the other hand, El-Hanash gets his agents in Greece to go after Hassanein, which results of Aziza's murder by a bullet directed towards her by mistake instead of Hassanein.

Salem is a corrupt merchant who fires the simple employee Shakir, who possesses some documents that incriminate Salem. During the pursuit by Salem's men to retrieve the documents, Shakir hides them in Dr. Aida's clinic without her knowing, and he is killed by Salem's men. His body was dumped on the road after being stripped of anything that could identify him. Salem calls one of his associates to kill the doctor.

Mashtaha flees her town after a local man assaults her. Her relationship with the taxi driver Zaki grows stronger. The wealthy businessman Sadiq takes a liking to her and encourages her to agree to marry him so that they can seize his wealth. Sadiq becomes paralyzed when he discovers her betrayal. The two lovers fail to find out how Sadiq opened the safe, so they decide to kill him.

Khalil abandons his lover, Shukriya, and refuses to marry her, even though she is pregnant. Khalil is killed and Shukriya gives birth to twins. She works as a beggar. She falls into the hands of Abbas, the chief beggar. He falls in love with her and marries her. She discovers that he is a drug dealer. Shukria informs the police and he is sentenced to prison. Shukria takes Abbas's place from prison and becomes the queen of the beggars.

Abu al-Ma'ati disguies himself as a janitor of a building to escape justice, he meets a dancer and work together in prostitution and drug trade, but events turn when he decides to run for election.

Tahyia lives happily with her husband Hussein, a simple employee, raising their two children Amin and Semsema. She asks her husband to find a better way of earning money, so he turns to the drug trade

In a dramatic social framework, the events revolve around life in a neighborhood (Darb al-Bahlawan), which is ruled by a fatwa who oppresses the poor. The film revolves around Dalal (Laila Elwi), a beautiful young woman who is in a love affair with Salem (Farouk El-Fishawy), but the big businessman Fikry (Salah Zulfikar) is always chasing her and asking her to marry him. When she tries to convince Salem to marry her to escape Fikry's pursuit, he refuses, so she is forced to marry his brother Atwa (Hussein Fahmy). Events unfold, and Atwa discovers his brother and his wife's betrayal, so he tries to take revenge on them, so Dalal runs away to Fikry to seek refuge with him.

Shadad sends his son Antarah to herd sheep after he refuses to acknowledge him as his son because of his dark skin and his mother is a slave and refuses to wed Antarah to his cousin Abla. When Banu Abs is invaded by another tribe, they enlist Antarah's help in exchange for allowing him to marry Abla.
