Angelo is a ten-year-old who dreams of becoming an explorer and a zoologist. When he goes to visit his granny, his parents leave him behind at a rest stop, and he decides to cut through the forest in search of them.

Shooom, a baby owl, hatches just as a storm turns the bayou surrounding her tree upside down. No sooner has she fallen from her nest, then the little fledgling totters off into the mangrove, pushing a second egg from the brood along with her. Come hell or high water, she’s determined to find a mother… even if that mom turns out to be an alligator or a raccoon!

Nevertheless, a talking cat will remain a cat haughty, teasing, cuddly, dreamy and a talking dog a dog empathic, hyperactive and generous. Thanks to their grandmother, at the time when they think that their lives are falling apart, Jules and Lola rediscover the extraordinary dormant family legacy within themselves.
