Angel Adoree

Dick Strawbridge and his partner (subsequently wife) Angel Adoree swap their two-bed flat in Essex for an abandoned French chateau. Can they bring its 45 rooms and acres of land back to life?

With passion, determination and grit, Daphne and Ian will confront budget constraints, battle bug infestations, hunt for rumored hidden treasure and tackle a seemingly endless list of projects head-on to breathe new life into the historic estate and preserve her grandfather's legacy.

Many Brits have moved to France to buy crumbling French chateaus to renovate into stunning homes. This series follows their progress and sees them try to use their homes as a business for events, etc. In 2021, the program was renamed as "Chateau DIY".

Dick and Angel Strawbridge help families across the UK tackle their design and DIY dilemmas. With millions of families stuck indoors, the significance of being able to truly feel at home in the places where we live has never felt stronger.

From scrumptious food and vintage finds to ancient traditions and unusual crafts, Dick and Angel Strawbridge venture beyond their chateau gates to explore France's hidden gems.
