Eugen Suchoň's opera Svätopluk returns to the stage of the Slovak National Theatre Opera in 2023. Since 1960, when it had its world premiere, this is the fifth production of this musical drama at the Slovak National Theatre. It returns as an eloquent witness of Slovak operatic history, as a bearer of a message, as an impulse for reflection and reassessment of historical attitudes in a broader context.

Nobody wants to dance with the quirky and a little cheeky Káča (Kate) at a party. Angry, she declares that she would dance with the Devil. So when he arrives as the dashing Marbuelo, she is swept off her feet down to hell. With the help of the clever Shepherd Jirka, will Káča make it back to earth? Might the Devil actually be relieved to see the back of his garrulous and feisty visitor?

Carl Maria von Weber's romantic opera staged at Teatro Lirico di Cagliari in 2002. Gérard Korsten leads the Orchestra and Chorus, with performances by Elena Prokina, Jolana Fogasova and Yikun Chung.
