Victor is a legal advisor who finds himself abandoned by his wife and fired the same day. He tries to seek comfort from different friends and family members, but everyone he meets is concerned with their own problems. His morale begins to falter when he realizes that no one cares about him.

Philippe, Didier, Georges and Edina were born on the same day. The three boys have always been in love with Edina, but she's always put them off. They set off in search of her and find her posing for a photographer. Seeing them, she flees and dies in the process. By mutual agreement, the three boys commit suicide to join her.

In France in the near future, revolt and chaos erupt. Caroline seduces Serge, and he soon abandons wife, family, job, and honesty to embrace Caroline, the romanticism of Jack London, and murder.

Barbara marries Julien a charming and sexy man. Barbara's old flame Paul is highly suspicious of Julien. It seems Julien's previous two wives died under dubious circumstances and he collected a wad of insurance money as a result. Paul cannot ignore his misgivings, and so he follows Barbara and Julien to Morocco on their honeymoon, intent on preventing any harm to the woman he still loves.

A woman in her forties takes stock of her past years. She has led a full life, with lots of outings with her friends. She has certainly not had time to be bored and has built the life that suits her. Professionally, she has an interesting job and her friends find her beautiful and funny. The only shadow in this almost idyllic picture is the absence of a child. Unfortunately, she has not yet found the rare pearl who would be a perfect father for her descendants. Determined to remedy the situation, she sets out to find the ideal man. Several male representatives are on the starting line.

Juliette has fought to keep her family's oyster business, called La Claire, afloat. She is ready to fight even harder, now that her heritage is threatened. On her Breton island, Juliette has to face developers who want to occupy her production site at any price to build a thalassotherapy center. Despite their tempting offers, Juliette refuses to sell and inevitably attracts the enmity of the industrialists who only think in terms of profitability and easy money. The conflict becomes more and more radical, each side sticks to its position and the confrontation risks going beyond the legal framework.
