This work explores the culture and influences that shaped the creation and performance of the songs on Vivo!, the third album by Pernambuco-born singer-songwriter Alceu Valença, released in 1976. Through this album, it paints a portrait of the birth of Pernambuco’s psychedelic scene, ranging from its visual art and fantastical characters to the initial forays toward Rio de Janeiro and mainstream success. It is a journey back to the 1970s, viewed through the lens of today and the eyes of tomorrow.

From the Agreste to the sea, the Capibaribe River inspires the poetry of João Cabral de Melo Neto and the dance of Deborah Colker. This documentary is a road movie in which performance, the body, and poetry fuel a journey that begins at the river’s source and flows out to the open sea, moving between the arid landscape and the ocean, between devastation and what endures.

The quiet life of the small town Piedade's inhabitants is shaken up by the arrival of a big oil company, which barges in taking over houses and local businesses, throwing everyone out, to better reach and use the area's natural resources.

The boy Francisco spent his days accompanying his father at work, or rather, on the roads. The man is a driver of the imposing Big Jet, a pickup truck used to clean the city's cesspools without basic sanitation. But the boy is more interested in the ideas of his uncle, a libertarian and anarchist artist. As he discovers his first love, Chico realizes the vocation to become a poet.

The boy runs after the ball. The worker builds concrete dreams between buildings and soccer balls in a lowland field in Recife. The poet receives a word ball, gives a literal stroke and makes an imaginary goal in this film about football, passion and poetry. João Cabral's America goes beyond the four lines of the field or paper, it transcends time and the field; update the memory to the fact that the love of football will not be volatile or ephemeral, neither in defeat nor in victory.

The original Canal Brasil series is based on chronicles by writer Xico Sá. The focus is on modern relationships, taking as a starting point the love misadventures of journalist Quincas.
