A Bowlful of Chile

From the producers of A Fistful of Barrels comes a new video featuring an entirely new wave. The small town of Arica, Chile hosts the ASP World Tour's Top 44 at Ex Isla Alacrans during the Rip Curl Pro Search Chile. Following hot on the heels of last year's epic sessions at the Mexican pointbreak known only as La Jolla, The Search extends its one-of-a-kind Floating License to South America, where the world's best face-off with one of the most challenging waves to ever host a World Tour event. What started out as a question mark became one of the greatest slab duels ever held, complete with heat-ending injuries and the spectacle of the world's best dry-docked on the shallow Chilean reef, leaving some holding their bandaged heads and others simply shaking theirs at a wave compared to both Pipeline and Teahupo'o for it's ferocity.

Aqua Luna

The oldest mummies in the world are from Chile. So are some of the sickest waves. In this follow-up to Absolute Mexico, director Josh Pomer trains his eye on surfing the Chilean coast. Along for the ride are some of the best surfers in the world. The crew scores a perfect reef that breaks in both directions. Joel Parkinson steals the show with his standup no grab backside tubes. Taylor Knox puts on a display of raw power through his use of rail turns. Cory Lopez shines in the ease of backdooring the wave. The Kill 3

Pomer had just cemented a relationship with the legendary surfer Tom Curren and it shows in the 100% exclusive footage of Curren surfing at his own secret point break. Pomer captured the reclusive Curren in his element by riding bikes with him to this lost point and surfing with him before breaking out the camera. It offers a glimpse of Curren that can be found nowhere else: Curren surfing all by himself in his own nirvana. This is special footage of a time that is long gone. Chasing Dora

Chasing Dora is the story of three California surfers who decided to bring to life an epic challenge thrown down by one of surfing's greatest stylists, the renowned maverick, Miki Dora, who died in 2002 at age 67. Dora was one of the sport's iconic figures. He railed against the commercialization of surfing, yet endorsed one of the best-selling surfboard models of the mid-'60s surf boom; he decried competitive surfing, yet still chose to enter some, and floated schemes to promote others; he shunned publicity, yet managed to use the surf media to create an almost mythic persona for himself. Chasing Dora takes on one of his radical ideas--that the ultimate test of a truly great surfer would be in a contest for the longest wave ridden, on a self-made wooden board, with no equipment or accessories that stemmed from the industrial age--no plastics, no neoprene suits, no surf leashes.
