A-Yun, a middle-aged woman from Vietnam, remarries an old man in Taiwan, bringing along her little son from her first marriage. Devoted as she is to her new husband, she is not treated as a family member. In their suffocating marriage, there is no love, but rather daily routine. Repressed desire makes her turn to her stepchild, a considerate and amiable young man.

In a journey of mountain climbing, a gay couple was not only stimulated by the curiousity for the future and desire, but also haunted by their past.

The story is centered around the transgender protagonist Tzu-chi who has left home for six years and her sister Tzu-chuan with whom she has fallen out of touch for years. From reencountering each other with Tzu-chuan unable to recognize Tzu-chi, to the emotional nuances triggered by the subsequent recognition, the story profiles the protagonist’s gender identity, the contempt and even discrimination she faces from her work and social environment, and conflicts with her family. In the story, the protagonist goes through a series of unfortunate incidents with her sister. Long-repressed emotions and pressures finally pop the cap off, but this also becomes an opportunity for Tzu-chuan to resolve her inner conflicts. This film presents the theme “one can only truly move forward in life by newly confronting the obstacles they did not overcome in the past.”

In an ordinary morning after glass eeling all night, an old fisher finds himself left alone in this desolate world. He wanders around in search of the spiritual trace of his deceased wife, seeking a way out in the endless cycle of the nature and human world.

Mr.Huang, a truck driver who is legally the guardian, travels north to accompany his daughter, whom he hasn't seen for many years, to apply for a student loan for her university education. He pretends to have forgotten to bring his identification card, hoping to use this as an opportunity to spend more time with his daughter.

A Lan and her daughter Chun Hua make their annual visit to the Turtle Island, where memories and grief haunt. As the journey unfolds, the tension between the mother and the daughter grows, driving them to confront the unspoken sorrow and regrets deep down.

Seven years ago, Lin Cheng was jailed for his father’s death. Finally released, he and older brother Hsiang, the real culprit, must face the consequences of the past together.
