A group of armed men, searching for an important case file, plan to abduct investigating magistrate Kaveh Sohrabi. However, they mistakenly enter the home of his neighbors, Behrouz and his wife Roya. Threatening the couple, the armed men force Behrouz to kidnap Kaveh Sohrabi, making Behrouz the prime suspect in the case.

Amid the turmoil of the Iranian Revolution, a young woman named Kokab is killed during street clashes. Her parents, Rahmat and Narges, who work as gardeners in a park, report their daughter’s disappearance to the authorities. During the investigation, officials discover that Kokab had been involved in anti-monarchy activities and was killed. The couple are subsequently evicted from their home. Some time later, a young woman named Maryam informs them of their daughter’s fate. Despite their efforts, Rahmat and Narges are unable to locate Kokab’s burial site.
