Athos Antoniou

Cyprus, 1882: Eleni, an outcast painter, tries to resurrect her dead children but instead unleashes mythical creatures upon her village. Only by becoming a good mother to a talented, but abused child can she reverse the curse.

Antoni lives by routine and isolation, hoping they will keep his depression and guilt at bay. His carefully controlled life is disrupted when he meets Olga, a volatile but determined warehouse worker whose reckless energy and dream of opening a bakery pull him into an unexpected relationship.

Eleven-year-old Semele unexpectedly arrives at her father's worksite in Cyprus with a note from school that needs to be signed. This is an astutely observed, ultimately heart-rending story about a youngster whose fierce longing to be noticed is matched only by her determination to make it happen.

An isolated Cypriot village goes into tragicomic overload when a flying object crash-lands in a potato field inside the adjacent UN-controlled buffer zone. A young farmer unwisely digs it out setting off a chain of incredible events.

"Mom's Cake", the main axis is mom's family tables, where guests are of different ages, moods and beliefs, gather to come closer, to meet, to remember, to smile, but also to quarrel and to disagree.
