The film features several important aspects of changing the human's nature: behind the prison walls, in society and in the family.

This film focuses on Zulfiya, a teenage girl who lives with her grandmother in a small Uzbek village while her mother works in a city. It explores Zulfiya's life as she wants to move to the city to stay with her mother.

18-year-old sniper Jamila, a graduate of a military weapons school, volunteers on the Kalinin Front in Belarus, as her lover is fighting on one of the war fronts. Jamila undergoes combat training and is fully trained in the process. He endures all hardships and struggles and fights valiantly, but is wounded and captured by the Germans. As events unfold, Jamila finds her lover, who turns out to be a triple agent working undercover for the Nazis. He rescues Jamila and sneaks her through the forest, where they are stopped by Belarusian partisans.

A psychologist, Umida strives to help people in her everyday life, while living with recurring dreams about Mount Fuji. The interplay between dreams and reality gradually reveals her inner search, psychological state, and process of self-understanding.
