In a Transylvanian village, a pastor tries to convert a local peasant to his religion, for personal interests.

This film takes place in Paris and Geneva in the 1530s and 1550s. Kálvin János and Szervét Mihály are school mates in Paris. The university students celebrate the victory of the Reformation with Kálvin's "Institution", written under a pseudonym.

Two cooperativists exploit a pond for fish and frogs outside their institutions circuit. Until a youth with socialist expanding ideals comes with the initiative to drain it and use the land for grains. They hatch a plan to make the pond a natural monument, so an expert is summoned, but foolish beliefs betray them.

The story of a love triangle, in which a romanian and a hungarian love the same woman. Happening during WWII, the two hate each other. The movie was banned shortly after the release.
