Few bands are more closely associated with Montreux than Deep Purple and there was simply no other contender when it came to choosing the act to headline the closing night of the 40th Montreux Festival in 2006. The band duly delivered one of their finest live performances, sprinkling songs from their latest album "Rapture Of The Deep" through a set chock full of their classic tracks. There was even a brand new song "Too Much Fun" written especially for the occasion and, of course, a show-stopping performance of "Smoke On The Water".

This documentary examines the period of Deep Purple's career when Ian Gillan and Roger Glover left the band, but the group forged ahead by hiring David Coverdale. Included is a wealth of live footage from the mid and late seventies, as well as a detailed explanation of how the band finally sputtered to an end due to a drug overdose.

Filmed in the spectacular surroundings of the Arena di Verona, a Roman amphitheatre originally built in 30 AD, this concert from the summer of 2011 sees Deep Purple joined on stage by a full symphony orchestra for performances of all their classic tracks.

The concert gave fans a chance to relive Jon Lord's remarkable and extensive musical career, remembering music from Paice, Ashton Lord, Deep Purple, his later classical compositions and everything in between – all in aid for the charity organization The Sunflower Jam. The 83-piece Orion Orchestra performed, conducted by Paul Mann and accompanied by bands and artists such as Deep Purple, Paul Weller, Glenn Hughes, Bruce Dickinson, Rick Wakeman, Joe Brown, Miller Anderson, Steve Balsamo and many, many more.

Filmed by 12 HD cameras and recorded by a top mobile studio, the show offers one of the most magical performances of the NOW What?! tour. Every member of the band is in fantastic form, the band being strong from a full tour together, and the performance seems to be driving the band through the song like if audience and band were suspended in time.

This is 1980 and it is the band GILLAN‘s year. The album “Glory Road” entered the UK charts at Number 3 and they had just returned from the USA from doing what they did best – playing live. he Glory Years is a DVD of the rock group Gillan, released in 2008 by Eagle Rock Entertainment. It consists of a live concert recorded at Oxford Polytechnic, England on February 18, 1981 for the BBC series 'Rock Goes to College', and several of the band's guest performances on German TV and BBC's TV chart show Top of the Pops.
