Professional snowboarder and mountaineer Jeremy Jones has an intimate relationship with the outdoors. It’s his escape, his identity, and his legacy. But over the course of his 45 years in the mountains, he’s seen many things change: more extreme weather, fewer snow days, and economic strain on mountain towns. Motivated by an urge to protect the places he loves, Jeremy sets out on a physical and philosophical journey to find common ground with fellow outdoor people across diverse political backgrounds. He learns their hopes and fears while walking a mile in their shoes on the mountain and in the snow. With intimacy and emotion set against breathtaking backdrops, Purple Mountains navigates America’s divide with a refreshing perspective: even though we may disagree about climate policy, our shared values can unite us

A young woman, stressed by her busy and continually crowded New York City existence spontaneously retreats to a solitary lake deep in the Adirondacks.

Patagonia Global Sport Activist Ramón Navarro joins with the Kawésqar—a traditionally nomadic Indigenous community who had their practices stripped from them during the colonization of Chilean Patagonia—in a fight for their homeland and ancestral waters. The salmon industry is creeping deeper and deeper into the region, polluting and destroying its wild and delicate ecosystem. For the locals, the fish no longer bite here, forcing the Kawésqar to stray farther from home to feed and support their families. Navarro connects with Leticia Caro and her father, Don Reinaldo, a traditional fisherman and elder, who show him the damaging effects of the salmon farms and the need to establish a marine protected area in the Kawésqar National Park. Along the way, they find common ground in their love for the sea.

All is not well in paradise. On the remote, rugged and beautiful coast of south Newfoundland, people have for generations enjoyed living close to the land and sea. But recently, huge amounts of plastic waste have been piling up in the region's once-pristine bays and coves. The culprit? Open net-pen salmon farming. Rock - Plastic - Salmon exposes an industry's blatant disregard for the environment and the inspiring characters who are standing up for a cleaner future. A whole ecosystem and the way of life that depends on it are at stake. One thing is clear: the cost of salmon farming is simply too high.

Narratives of ecologists and conservationists are pitted against the human tendency to engineer and control in this probing documentary on the lucrative salmon-hatchery industry.

Professional snowboarder and POW founder Jeremy Jones has always had a deep connection to the outdoors. It’s not just his escape—it’s his identity, his passion and his legacy. Growing up in New England, Jeremy carved out his beginnings in the mountains, but in the years since, he’s witnessed troubling changes: wilder weather, fewer snow days and mountain towns struggling to survive.
