The story starts off with an ancient painting of Nagavalli (Vimala Raman), distributed as a prize to bharathanatyam dancer Saraswathi (Lakshmi Gopalaswamy), her husband and her family. At the Engagement day of Gowri (Sandhya), one of her friends had fainted by encountering a huge thirty-feet Snake/Serpent, and the bridegroom/fiancé had ran away from the family house fearing of something. All strange incidents happen as the family called for a snake charmer to the house, but the snake charmer had died when he attempted to make the serpent appear.

Lachchi falls in love with her neighbour, Balu, while her parents are searching for a suitable bridegroom. But, Balu believes that the respect of people is more important than love.

Singer Devu attracts the attention of the lovely Sevanthi with his beautiful voice, but he misreads her appreciation as love and pursues her with purpose, only to see his world shatter when he learns she's engaged to married. The love-struck Devu then decides he will stop at nothing to prevent the wedding in this Kannada-language treat, featuring the songs "Chellidaru Malligeya," "Jaaji," "Bhaggada Balegara," "Mayadhanta" and "Namliyetanada."

Kolluru hasn't performed its yearly Kona (buffalo) sacrifice, leaving the village uneasy. Narayana, with his robot Jogi, is drawn into the village. As the ritual nears, secrets surface - will he dare to face the truth behind the sacrifice?

The movie is about Kariya (Vijay) who grows up the hard way, is a black, has a good appetite for food, drinks arrack and sleeps well. However, one thing he would not stand is insult to his mother and if that happens it brings out the beast in him. Trouble begins when Kariya hits one of the local men in the village for abusing his mother and he happens to be the family of a don in the village and in another scuffle two more from the don household get beaten up. The don’s daughter Swapna (Shuba Punj) is impressed by the valour of Kariya and expresses her love to him and Kariya with his naïve nature does not understand what love is. Swapna then changes this rock hard man into a man of feelings and sensitivity and when things are heading towards a marriage Swapna shocks Kariya by saying she did this to avenge the insult done to her family. Kariya reacts in an equally harsh manner and though he walks out he is unable to suppress his feelings.

Shivaraj falls in love with his manager's daughter, Shruthi. However, she refuses his proposal and challenges him to first earn Rs 5000 without using any influence. Shruthi makes Shivaraj a better person, and they both fall in love. But Shruthi finds out that her best friend Aishwarya is also in love with Shivaraj so she gives up her love for her best friend. Later when Aishwarya learns about SHruthi too being in love with him, she feels guilty and backs off the relationship. Instead, Shivaraj comes up with a mind baffling situation and he sets up both the girls with two of his friends and he finds another girl for himself.

To gather important information about a case, Jaggesh, a police officer, disguises himself as an old woman. During his investigation, he falls in love with a woman.
