A young man Danesh learns of ancient relics, including a ruby that once a year can help find treasure in the Canyon of Scorpio. As the old man holding the knowledge passes away, Danesh receives the ruby and a map, setting out for an adventure full of mystery and danger, friend and foe, set under the dazzling southern sun.

After leaving the army, Victor Koltsov (the main guy in the movie "Attention! All Posts...") starts working for the police. While looking into a burglary, Victor comes across an 11-year-old boy who ran away from an orphanage. However, the hero does not take drastic measures, but gets to know the children better and does everything possible to restore hope and faith in a better life to these disadvantaged children. "When a child becomes an orphan after losing his parents, it is terrible, but understandable. But an orphan with living parents is both terrible and incomprehensible. The hero of our film confronts the tragedy of such children, who were given life but deprived of a home, maternal affection, and warmth," said director Igor Voznesensky about his film.

The movie takes us back to the times of the Civil War, when the young Soviet power was defended by the first heroes of this terrible internecine war. The social ferment in late 19th century Russia which led to the 1917 Russian Revolution is movingly portrayed in this lengthy historical drama, which is very faithful to the 1907 novel The Mother by the celebrated Marxist writer Maxim Gorky (1868-1936). In the story, "the mother" has no other recourse than to watch her decent, kindly husband turn into an animalistic, drunken brute as a result of working in the inhuman conditions of a steel mill in the town of Sormovo. When he begins to express his suppressed rage by beating her, she is defended by her teenaged son Pavel. After his father's death, Pavel is forced to go to work in the same factory. However, Pavel and his friends begin investigating Marxism and socialist thought, and work to organize their fellow workers.

The film is dedicated to Dmitry Ilyich Ulyanov, the younger brother of V.I. Lenin, a professional revolutionary, doctor and creator of the first Soviet sanatoriums and rest homes in the Crimea.
