Jo is wild, melancholic, only 15 and today she misses the school bus, once again. Her mother insists she doesn’t have a car, even though it’s parked outside. Furious, Jo tries to damage the car. Her mother intervenes, and that is the last time they will meet in the physical world – at least in body form. Throughout the day, subtle signs and symbols from the dream world quietly surface around her, but she fails to recognize them, indeed Jo is unaware that she is living the last day of her life.

The “good life” appears as an abstract idea that doesn't seem to be meant for him and his friends.

Time as punishment — of juvenile inmates and bodies that become heavy in prescribed spaces.
