FROM NEAL MORSE: This video includes the two final shows I played as a member of Spock’s Beard. They were both acoustic performances to relatively small groups, to promote the SNOW album. This was the only time some of these songs were played by the line up who recorded the album, and I have to say it was a very emotional time for me, knowing that this would be the final time I would play with my brothers in the band. The setlist for each show is slightly different but they include: “The Good Don’t Last,” “Thoughts II,” “Stranger In A Strange Land,” “Open Wide The Floodgates,” “Pride (In The Name Of Love),” “Carie,” “June,” “Looking For Answers,” “Solitary Soul,” “Wind At My Back,” and “The Doorway.”

The first full Neal Morse & The Resonance gig took place on March 27th, 2025 in New Life Church, White House, TN (the recent venue for Morsefest USA). Ahead of their performance at the Cruise To The Edge Pre-Cruise party, the band played the full No Hill For A Climber album to an audience of friends and fans – plus as a bonus, the show ended with Wind At My Back. It’s an incredible performance for a debut gig and was specially filmed and edited by Chad Horner and team, and mixed by Nathan Martin as the 20th Anniversary Neal Morse Inner Circle release. This concert was recorded live at the Coach House on 17th October 1998. The picture quality and sound are excellent, as are all the camera angles. Eric has a great band who do all the songs full justice and reproduce the original sounds where needed (e.g. on San Franciscan Nights and Spill The Wine)- they are Aynsley Dunbar on drums, Dean Restum on guitar, David Meros on bass and Neal Morse on keyboards and guitar. There are also five interesting interviews with Eric where he talks about the history of some of the featured songs. These fit in very well between some of the songs, but I don't feel they spoil the continuity and they do not interrupt any songs. Eric performs as his fans would expect - plenty of stage presence and integrity and on the whole he sings extremely well with far less shouting than he has done on some other concert occasions.

"The Making Of Snow" is fully dedicated to Neal's last studio work with Spock's Beard. The viewer is present when Neal is collecting his first ideas for the album overture, he watches the band jamming and recording and looks over the guys' shoulders during the mixing and mastering. In addition, this DVD documents major parts of the band's story: Neal's last two acoustic shows with the band. These two performances were the only promotion for "Snow", because shortly after that Neal announced his departure from Spock's Beard. At that time, however, Neal had already come to this decision, so during the unplugged gigs he was fighting back his tears. There was no concert tour for the album.
