Five passengers - the Bandit, his friend Matvei, Matvei's old father, the Musician, and a young woman - race along an empty road in a big black jeep, searching for the Belfry of Happiness which, according to hearsay, lies somewhere between St. Petersburg and the town of Uglich, near a deserted nuclear power station. The Belfry takes people, but it does not take everyone. Each of the five passengers believes that he or she will be chosen.

Six years after winning the Sparta tournament, Nikolai Kudryashov gets the right to assemble a team to participate in the brutal TTC International Team Championship. To win, Nikolai needs the best, and he makes a risky decision: to invite two former rivals to the team - Andrey Filatov and Viktor Smolyar, whom he once defeated. For what seems like such an easy job at first glance, the woman is willing to pay a tidy sum — which means the trip is likely to be quite challenging. Desperately in need of money, Nikolai agrees to the offer, not even suspecting how dangerous the trip to luxurious Las Vegas will turn out to be…
